Hiring Kentucky Heroes

“Kentucky National Guardsmen and veterans of all branches of military service make great sacrifices to protect our freedom and keep us safe during natural and other disasters. After serving our country, many of these men and women return home to an uncertain future due to a tough job market. It is now our turn to serve them. We are calling on Kentucky’s employers to consider veterans for available positions.

Hiring Kentucky Heroes makes good business sense and is the right thing to do for our veterans and their families.”

—Steve Beshear
GOVERNOR

Transitioning from the military to civilian workforce involves more than changing your uniform. It means translating military experience into skills employers require. Veterans have experience, skills, dedication and training that are valuable to employers and their communities. Matching veteran job seekers with the right employer will help the Commonwealth retain a critical, high-quality talent pool while allowing the veteran heroes to put their talents to work for Kentucky’s businesses.

There are many state and federal programs available for veterans and employers interested in hiring. This online information bank gives veterans and businesses helpful links and resources to make a smooth transition.
