Prayer Breakfast

Governor's Prayer Breakfast

The Governor’s Prayer Breakfast is a longstanding tradition in Kentucky dating back to 1965 and includes representatives of all three branches of government. Each year it provides Kentuckians with an opportunity to give thanks for our blessings, provides us hope for the future and an opportunity to ask for strength to lead our Commonwealth to a brighter tomorrow.

The Semicentennial Governor's Prayer Breakfast will be held at the Frankfort Convention Center on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, from 7:30–9:30 a.m.

Our special guest speaker will be Matthew Sleeth, author and Executive Director of Blessed Earth. Blessed Earth is an educational nonprofit that inspires and equips people of faith to become better stewards of the earth. Learn more at

This year's prayer breakfast will also feature musical guest and multiple Grammy Award winner, Larnelle Harris.

Kentucky Student Leadership Seminar

The annual Kentucky Student Leadership Forum which is normally held in conjunction with the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast, will be held later this year. This is due to the Breakfast coinciding with spring break for several schools. Each year, all Kentucky colleges and universities, both private and public, are asked to submit the names of two students to attend the seminar.

Students are treated to a day of guest speakers from government, business and academia, and provided the opportunity to network with fellow student leaders, sharing best practices of principled leadership on college campuses.
