Vivek Sarin serves as the Interim Secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development. Vivek is a member of the Governor’s Cabinet working to support existing businesses and industry, assist entrepreneurial growth and develop new business opportunities for Kentucky that drive job growth and improve the lives of Kentuckians.
Like Governor Bevin, Vivek is a proven business executive – not a politician – with over 30 years of CEO experience, now serving in government for the first time. Prior to this role, Vivek’s middle market experience includes family businesses, manufacturing, engineering and logistics, professional services and several successful entrepreneurial endeavors.
Vivek holds a BS degree in business from Indiana University and an MBA from Miami University. Vivek has won a variety of awards and accolades, including Business First’s “20 People to Know in Manufacturing,” “Forty under 40 Leadership Award,” “Fast 50 Award,” as well as the Pacesetter Award from the Kentucky Small Business Development Center. Most recently, Business First named him one of the Top 20 People to Know in Economic Development. He has served, and continues to serve, in a variety of business and civic organizations.
Vivek and his wife, Amy, reside in Louisville, and their life is happily full with four children, a 22-year old daughter and 18-year-old triplets.
